Do you have problems with the poles when you are taking down the tent? We bought the Maritsa at the end of last August so only got to use it once before the weather turned, anyhow when we dismantled the tent the white pole wouldn't completely "fold down" no matter what we did we couldn't get the two sections of pole to dislodge from each other, luckily we have a big enough car to accomodate the problem on the way home, we contacted the shop we purchased the tent from and they ordered us a replacement pole, however, we went on out 1st camping expedition of the year this past weekend (not the best weekend to choose, we now know how to bail out a tent!) and again when we dismantled the poles the white one had two sections stuck together and so did the red pole :( is this a common thing, are we just unlucky or are we doing something majorly wrong??? Any ideas on how we can get these poles unstuck?

That has happened to us but my OH tapped them with another pole & that released them but if he weren't there they would have come home all attached in the car.

Hiya

If you mean where the bent poles go into the arcs at the top then yes happens a lot to us, think its the heat! My hubby just taps them with the rubber mallet and that seems to do the trick!

Take a tin of Fabsil type water proofing (always good to spray zips with) and spray the pole joint when you pitch the tent. If they are still stuck when you come to take them down a quick squirt in the joint and a tap with a rubber mallet will get them apart. This is a common thing with steel poled tents, not a lot you can do.

Gary Cross

Ps, never use an oil based or soap type solution to do this.

We used to have the same problem with the steel poles on our Vango Kura 600. Gary's solution always worked for us.
