Hi, At the end of last summer I posted about my leaking SIG and was given some excellent advice. We have just got back from a very soggy week in Devon and had no water inside the tent at all.

I got 3 large groundsheets from Argos to add to the 2 I already had and completely covered the floor. Job done

Sadly I think that the Scenic 7 has just about reached the end of its life as we had quite a lot of water seepage through the seams and many bits are becoming fragile.

It has been a good tent and we have had it for 6 years so I suppose it has done well.

Thanks again for the advice.

Glad you managed to stay dry!!

It's sad when you have to thnk about a tent going to the big campsite in the sky, but just think of all the fun you can have getting a new one.

Good luck finding your new best friend!!

I am thinking about the Outwell Oakland XL, it looks like a really nice tent.

I think I have seen one on display somewhere but will probably have to go and have a mooch around some before I make a decision.

Luckily I have the base seconds 4.1 and a couple of mini outwell pop ups to keep me going over the summer

The Oakland is a great tent. We have a 2010 one and they have improved on it since then so it is even better. There is plenty of room for the 3 of us in it, but I'd say you wouldn't want anymore more than 4 of you in it (2 adults, 2 young kids)

I also have a 2010 Oakland XL, and it is a great tent.  It' pretty easy to erect once you've got the hang of it and has ample space.  I'd def recommend getting the carpet though, gives it a whole different feel.

Don't know where you are in the Midlands, but Winfields at Feckenham had a Oakland on display. ( I've not been able to camp yet this year because I've been I'll, so have had to get some tent therapy somewhere!)
