Outwell no longer make the Outwell Carolina M and we can't get an extension for it. But looking on line the Outwell Nevada M looks to be the replacement for the Carolina and you can get a front extension for the Nevada.

Has anyone got any experience of this?

A front extension was never available for the carolina.

Do what most other carolina owners did, and fit the
gelert horizon porch on the Side.
See picture in my gallery.

Chestnut colour is a close match for the tent.
I would try to get a S/H one pre. 2011,
basically the same as later models but cheaper.

Hi there,
Please forgive me if this question has already been asked :-/ I have been looking and can't find a clear answer, but is it only the Gelert Horizon side porch that fits? or does the End porch fit also? There seems to be so many Gelert Horizon porches, I have been offered a Gelert Horizon 4 & 8 End Porch will it fit?

Thank you so much in advance
Mel

Basically, the gelert horizon 4/6/8 end porch
is 3450mm wide, the width of the carolina
is just 2450mm ! - 1 metre wider
so would not really be a close fit.
The end porch would not be any good for the Side
either, as it lacks the 'tongue' that goes over
the top.
The gelert horizon porch which most carolina owners
fitted to the side is the one with the enclosed
front, which can be zipped off, there are a few
photos in the tent review section on carolina
M & L

Hi, glad I joined this forum. I have an Outwell Carolina S which for me is perfect except the door - rubbish in the rain because it opens in and I've wondered about a porch.

I'll definitely look into the Gelert Horizon

Thank you

Hi
You may want to rethink the Horizon porch as the Carolina S doesnt have a side door and the end porch is much too wide

Hi lanto1963

I've been looking at this from the other side - we have a Nevada M and I wanted to fit the Carolina M's side extension as I preferred it to the 'real' one.

From my research, the short answer is 'no' you can't swap: the Nevada front extension has a width of 3.6m and the Carolina's side porch was 2.6m.

However, the Glendale 5 side extension is exactly the right size for your tent at 2.6m width and 2.15 height... AND it's the mocha brown.

Sad that Outwell have discontinued this tent, as it looked fab. This was the one that I wanted when we changed and hubby overruled me in favour of the Nevada. If it helps, I have tent envy for yours 17

Hope that helps!

I've got a Gelert Horizon 'End' Porch for my Carolina L (in error, I have to 'fess up - but it was a bargain!), & with a bit of sewing it's lovely on the L - used it for over 2 weeks recently & was well impressed. I'll see if I can add a pic of it to my profile.

Edited to add - Did it! Go see! If you want to know what I did please ask! xx
