Hi we have a vango diablo 900 and everytime we use it i end up replacing broken poles! When the tent is pitched it always seems to be leaning to the back putting pressure on the two main poles especially. Has anyone else had this problem? Am i pitching it wrong? Its starting to annoy me now and thinking bout getting rid of the tent even tho we love it.

To be honest I had the Diablo 600 and never broke a pole is it the same poles breaking all the time

Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again
Hi, we had a 600 and a 900, like Arsenaldes, we never had any poles go either.
When you're pitching the inner, are you putting the main central body up first, with all the tensioning straps loose?
It could be that the straps are too tight towards the rear of the tent, or the bedroom pole straps could be too tight also? I'm just trying to think blind really as to what could be causing it.
Sorry you're having issues, they really are a great tent with loads of room

My Biarritz 6 isn't too dis-similar, and I found at first that I was putting a lot of pressure on the cross-over poles by putting the ring & pin system in while the tent was flat on the ground. They would almost bend 'S' shape before springing into their correct position and lifting the tent up.
I now get my wife or son to crawl inside the tent, stand up while lifting the poles from the inside where they cross and I go round fiting the poles, which puts very little strain on them.
I've probably described that very poorly but if you can visualise it it might make a difference, I used to expect a snapped pole at any time when I first started.
Yeh my wife is going inside and lifting the central poles up while i put the pins in the other side. i dont think that is the problem.ejjerome I don't think there is any tension straps on the inner tent. i think they are on the outer. Unless im being daft and not looking correctly.
It6s seems as tho all the rear of the tent is being pulled towards the back and not enough to the front. Maybe im pulling the rear bedroom pod too tight? or not pulling the ropes at the front tight enough? The past four trips we have had iv had to replace the same section of poles! even after a short weekend.
Sorry bentondeep, been a while since I owned a diablo... make sure that when you put the pins in for the inner, you portion the sleeves more to the front and maybe this might help(??), slightly uneven ground can sometimes throw the angle off.
I know from experience that even on what appears a level pitch, for some unknown reason when we had diablo's, the the tent would sometimes end up 'listing' to the rear? But we never had any broken poles.
Sorry I can't be any more help.
