Hi all,

I see that Argos have a Regatta Premium 4 Man Tunnel Tent with carpet on sale, down from £299.99 to £119.99,Can't seem to find much info on it anywhere though.(only has one review which doesn't say much)
Is this because it isn't much of a bargain?
Anyone out there had any experience with this model?

Ta.

Looks like an ok tent, but it's not worth the RRP - it says "has previously been on sale at £149.99" at the bottom.

It's current price is good though, and the free carpet is a good extra.

If I were looking at a tunnel tent for around that price though, I'd be tempted to pay £30 more and get the Vango Icarus 500 though - a favourite on this forum, and a much better make of tent.  http://www.millets.co.uk/Sale/Camping/product/096510/ICARUS-500.html?attribute=4873527

You can also add a canopy to the Icarus if you want more room later on.

OUr friends bought this and went away Jubliee week. Poured with rain and it leaked very badly. They took it back and got their money back.

I would say Icarus is a good choice too.

Oops, too late,by the time i read that last post i'd already bought the tent.
Hopefully i'll not get the same leaking problems as your friends.Had a look at the Icarus reviews on here and although there are good reviews i see some negative ones too.
I guess its all trial and error, hopefully not too much error though, lol.

Hi John,

After seeing some pretty negative reviews i returned the Regatta tent before actually using it,the weather had turned anyway so hadn't had a chance get away.
I see that it's back on offer again though and was sorely tempted to give it another shot.
In the end i opted for the Vango Odyssey 500 which hopefully will be a good choice.

Good luck with the Regatta if you purchase one.

We just bought this, very easy to put up and take down, it is easily packed away in the bag provided and seems to be of very good quality, the free carpeet really makes a big diference wee might get something similar for bedroom comfort. this is a super bargain, can't beleive we got this    amazing deal. Looking forward to using it very soon.

Can't believe it's almost a year since the last post. We had three great week-ends with the Tent and look forward to using it again this year. We hope to return to Castle Carey and Witches Craig, two great little sites with decent facilities. Although we had the best of weather this little Tent was fit for purpose and kept us warm through the nights which were a bit cold. We had no problems with poles, zips or any other part of this unit and I would recommend this Tent as a starter to anyone.
