Ok I have a new tent an Outwell Nevada M which on Saturday night had a very minor drip from a seam . I don't think its worth taking it back as it endured an hour of the heaviest rain I have ever seen in in 40 years of camping.
So the question If I'm going to seal the seam do I apply the sealant on the inside or the outside? The seams are taped on the inside but it seems to make more sense to seal on the outside.
All help and suggestions much appreciated.

If you know (saw?) where the water was coming in, take a very close look at the tape, and you may even spot a small section that hasn't adhered properly. Just pick it back with your fingernail, and pump a drop of seamseal between tent and tape, then rub it, and any excess, in with your finger, spreading around the area, and in effect, "sticking the tape back down". It worked for me.
If you can't see a flaw in the tape, but have a rough idea where the leak is, just rub it in anyway! Yes, it can be seen, once dry, but only because you know it is there. It's as invisible as it's ever likely to be, and if it's kept to as small an area as you can get away with, nobody else is likely to see it!
I've used it on one occasion, but on three separate leaks. Two cured at the first attempt, and the other needed another go at it, but I was impressed, tbh.
