My Vango Kairos was damaged and that was why I couldn't erect it. One of the poles in the roof had a kink it in.

I have written to Vango and am awaiting a reply.

Tent spares sell spare vango tent poles (they also repair vango tents part of the AMG group). I don't think tent poles are covered under warranty.

Thanks for that, but I don"t see how I should have to pay for things damaged on arrival.

If they don't get in touch I shall have to buy some as it can't be sold with a damaged pole.

I bought it last October and there was no time to test it. Yoeman's took over this shop in November!! So when I went to see the people there, they had gone.

The girl in there was very helpful but advised me to try contacting Vango as they had a pole returned damaged just like mine, but were getting nowhere.

I can go back to the shop if I get no joy and she will try for me.

After a visit to my daughter in New Zealand I have had Sciatica and this was the first chance to try it out.

I can't really manage so want to sell the tent .

Have you tried ringing Vango: Tel. +44 (0) 844 811 0535 (This is the phone number that goes with their address).

Their main spares outlet: http://www.campingspares.co.uk/acatalog/contact_us.html doesn't have spare steel poles for the Kairos any more (only the fibreglass ones) but they might be able to help talk to Vango for you if you don't have any luck getting through direct.

I've had good after sales before, so good luck!

Also sounds as if its worth having a go at re-pitching the tent once you have a replacement pole...

I had an email this morning from Vango. You are right, they don"t have the spare steel poles for the Kairos any more, but will attempt a repair.

So off they go via the post office in the morning.

I shan"t attempt to re-pitch as my back is still giving me hell after the one attempt. it will be sold.
