I have just purchased a Vango Midas 800 in surf blue, I've used it for a week and am very happy with it, however I would like to get a side canopy for it. I've combed the internet for the Vango Midas 800 side canopy but can't seem to find one, does anyone know if the Vango universal side canopy will fit this tent or does anyone know a stockist who might hive the 800 side canopy in stock - plenty of them have the 400-600 one but the 800 seems to be ararity. Any help appreciated

wow someone has the same tent as me!!!!

from what I gathered they are discontinuing the tent, and with it the canopy! I have no idea but surmise that the tigris 800 side canopy may fit, just make sure it is the side not end version, but I would ask the local tent shop, they may have a demo you can try.

also it takes me easily as long to put up the canopy as the tent its a fiddly bu88er!.

but IMO well worth it for the extra space when camping on the usual rainy bank holiday weekend and stops the dripping when you open the front door!

I got mine of off Ebay for just 70 quid from nearly new tents was an indoor display model in fantastic condition!

so that would be my first check point.

So do you have the Midas 800 side canopy or the Tigris 800, also I have been looking at Canopies described as Vango universal side canopies on Fleabay lthough the small print says one is marked Tigris Enclosed side canopy and the other is an Odyssey one, dimensionally they both look as if they will fit A Midas 800, but is the profile the same. The blur for them says they will fit a Tunnel tent - I guess the midas is shaped like a Tunnel tent.

thats were i got mine i think! well done, have fun puttin it up the first time lol.

i think peg the first front pole in first, then chuck the extra bit over the top line it up and go from there.

hard on your own and impossible on your own if there is a breeze but well worth the extra space when the rain comes!

Interestingly Nearly New tents are owned by AMG leisure group who also own Vango - must be an outlet for them to release outdated stock directly to the Public.

maybe one to save, i did look on my ebay history and that was who i got it from as i bought a matching rucksack too.
