Well we are currently camping in our new royal athens tent and have just survived the most horrendous night of near torrential rain and up to 30 mile an hour winds.
The rent has remained completely water tight and fully intact and although the wind was quite scary at times, the Athens 6 took it in its stride.
The sun is now out and all is good.
Anyone sitting on the fence about the quality of royal tents need not worry, they seem top quality.

thats great to hear!. always scary at the time but i think its a good thing to go through an experience like that because next time bad weather is forecast you wont worry knowing that your tent is able to handle it fine. - it was a confidence building exercise!
Yes it didn't seem it at the time but agree it was a confidence building thing. And yes the sun is out and although wind is up and we have had a few minor showers, we are in good spirits B-)
God we love this tent ;-)

Wait until you get 60mph winds and torrential rain for 48 hours non stop 30mph winds will seem like a breeze

------------- Experience enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.
Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again

Hi, glad your tent survived! I love the look of the Royal Athen tent but my OH has reservations because of the detachable ground sheet in the porch, Just wondered what the fit was like and if you will leave it in when you take it down? Sorry hope you dont mind all the questions!
That's good to hear as we are close to buying the Royal Tokyo 6 with the side extension so any positive feedback on the Royal range is most welcome at the moment.
