I wondered whether anyone had invested inthe new Delaware 5 and had trouble with the poles sticking together? I have assisted in the purchase of a brand new one from one of Yeomans camping exhibitions for my daughter, son-in-law and their family. Unfortunately, now they have pitched the tent they are unable to uncouple two of the steel poles. Consequently they cannot pack them away.  Has anyone else had this problem?

Also, they are missing the webbing pieces used to hang the rails in the front entrance.

I have Outwell tents myself and a couple of years ago I bought a new Oakland which was part of a defective batch familiar to some members.  I managed to get mine exchanged.  I wondered whether this was again Outwell bringing something to the market which was not yet refined in the production process.  My understanding that if there are defects or missing bits with new tents then a full exchange is given rather than bits replaced.  Can anyone shed any light on the matter please?

Re the poles, this is something you will find on a lot of steel poled tents. All you need to do is take a tin of fabsil and give every joint a quick spray before you pitch the tent and you will find they will come apart easily when you take the tent down. Also if the pole is stuck just give it a quick squirt with some fabsil and leave for 60 seconds and again the pole will come apart. Other than that a few bangs with a rubber malet will get the poles apart.

Ive never had a pole that has'nt come apart easily after a quick squirt of fabsil. Remember this is not just an Outwell problem, this is the same with most steel frames, mostly when a tent has been up for a week or so and its been windy. The poles rub against each other an embed themselves into each other with the movement.

As for the porch wardrobe straps, im unsure if its the same with the Delware but early in the season Outwell released some images of some tents with this feature in the awning such as the Vermont range but in the end the tents for whatever reason didnt come with the straps or poles. Again im unsure if this is the case on the Delware but if the two front wardrobe poles and straps are not there then that would be the case. Saying that if Yoemans just used the Outwell standard blurb and it says they are with the tent and didnt change the images when we were asked to by Outwell then thats their look out and you will need to take it up with them.

The tent had only been up about an hour for a trial pitch.  So maybe its just that the poles are new and quite a tight fit.

We have the poles for the porch but no straps.  I note that the images on the Outwell site still shows them in place and the man doing the demo mentions them as drying poles. So it looks like back to Yeomans  on that one.
