Hi All

Breaking into my middle thirties with a 5yo daughter and struggling for ideas for Easter i thought i'd ask!

My 2 man Bibler is past its sell by date and I now need a family tent which will stand up to the test of time and enable me to stand up in it (6'2").  I have looked at the Kyham Pod and they seem to be great? but are they worth the money?

part two is where to take kids foe Easter and yes we are camping (my parents first took me when I was 5 at Easter and we were wrapped in a sheet that was cold) I intend to take bags or even a quilt for my little girl!! But she wants to walk/run and do the social bit too any help most welcome (i have done the Blue Dolphin Filey not my thing)

Any ideas on both parts welcome

N

my friend has a wynnster satallite 12 for sale if you are interested.   has only been used ONCE - they were too wimpy to try again and went for a caravan instead.  Its a lovely tent with massive living area and 3 sewn in sleeping pods which you sleep opposite way to our tent.  head towards door and feet to outer tent so should be plenty long enough to accomodate you!

if you like a really good quality site with beautiful views, I would recommend Limefitt park in the Lake District - best site we've been on up to date.  plenty of space for kids to run about and lots of facilities too.

Try some camp sites in North Yorkshire, there are some great sites around the Ripon area.

Good luck and Happy Camping

Hi and Welcome to the site.
Tent choice seems to vary from person to person>
However, the one thing that those of us who camp with children have in common - its that we all say go for a large living area.  You need somewhere for the kids to lay when its wet outside.  One of the reason's we got a big frame tent was after a wet weekend in an tent with a tiny living area.  (Otherwise great tent.)

Don't be afraid to take pleanty of warm clothes, bedding especially for your daughter - theres nothing worse than being cold - especially during the night.

My two usually find that there's other kids on the park that they can play with - without the need for an entertainment complex. I also have a box of colouring type of activities that I keep just for camping.  Cheap dough, felt tips, colouring books etc.  Helps keep my two entertianed.  Very useful when I need them by the tent, but I need to get on with other jobs, also if the weather aint to good.
