Last year we purchased a closed canopy for our Icarus 500. This is excellent and we have no problems with it. What we would like to know has anybody got some sort of groundsheet for the canopy if they have which one did they buy.

Thanks again.

Mine came with one, (2011 model) and actually had a little name tab in the corner, stating it was specifically for the front extension canopy, so there are "proper" ones out there (as opposed to having to find "the best fit"

FYI, when everything is up and tight, I would say there is about 4 or 5 inches of grass showing down each side, but this can be pretty much fully covered by turning the "mud flaps" inwards.
Having said that,of course, you need a bit of grass exposed as you still have to peg the two guys (at the front of the tent) inside the extension.

PS:
No,sorry..... mines not for sale!!

PPS:
If you look closely through the right hand of the chair, you can just make out a short piece of (orange) guy line (from the front of the tent). This is pegged between the Groundsheet and the "mud flaps, which in turn, pretty much meet, but don't overlap.
Best pic I could come up with, sorry!

Hi
We use a breathable groundsheet in our Canopies nicer under foot than a normal groundsheet plus any rain getting in simply soaks through. Other than that could you not buy a tarpaulin off Ebay and trim to size

I got tent, footprint and canopy (which included the aforementioned canopy GS) from HERE.
It doesn't seem to be showing any now, but might be worth a phone call?

Make sure you mention the year, as the tent went (a bit) wider in 2012, so I presume the canopy did too!

Good luck.

Des makes a good point about the rain soaking through, as we had the annoying habit of trying to treat the canopy as being inside, which of course, isn't very practical with the front door design!!!

After all that, we ended up folding it (the GS) back (away from the door threshold) a few feet, and bunging some of them holey foam mats down!

What I'm trying to say is, just ignore any "help" from me..... and do as Des suggests!!

As far as I remember all the enclosed canopies come with the groundsheet as standard.

As Mucker says the width of the 2012 model is about a foot wider than the 2011 and pre 2011 models.

we did get a groundsheet with the enclosed canopy, it is the open one which doesn't come with one.

Sorry to highjack the conversation, but I was just starting to look for a 2011 Enclosed Canopy for the 500 (in blue) and they seem like the proverbial rocking horse stuff. Does anybody know if there is a reasonable fitting (and cheap)alternative?

I think might might be worthwhile have a good look on the interweb as I am sure you can get a good deal. Then go to GO if near one and challenge them to price match it.

Someone may have some old stock 2011 Vango ones may be worth a few phone calls to various suppliers as they may only be listing the current 2012 ones on their websites

Sorry to reprise this post but I'm looking for some advice following a few years gap in camping due to raising a family.

We bought a Vango Icarus in 2010 (laurel) and also have the sun canopy which gives a nice piece of space for cooking equipment etc.

Our daughter will be 2 this summer and we feel it's time to introduce her to camp life and although we'd love an Outwell Monty we just can't justify the spends, so have been looking at the Vango enclosed extension. I can remember the old style one which would've fitted our model but they are like hens teeth, so was wondering if the new extension would fit. If so, could I tag on the sun canopy and then the extension? For added room! Or vise versa?

Not fussed on colour match, we just want to add some room to our little tent.

Many thanks!

Hmm so the Woburn looks like the old style canopy. Any reckoning I could butt the sun canopy I already have on the end of this? Might be a bit long on pitch space but would be worth it for the room we'd get!

Cotswold Outdoor has a 2011 canopy which will fit your 2010 tent, we have this combination, they are different colours but look ok together.
We have been wondering if using the open canopy then the closed one would work, if you try it out before us please let us know.

The lovely people at Vango have just emailed me to say a 2011 canopy will fit a 2010 model.

Roll on summer!
