Hi everyone,

This is my first time posting on here.

I was wondering if anyone can help with my dilemma. We like the Voyager 6 but then I saw the Tigris 600 XL and can't make my mind up anymore. We need enough living space for us 3 and Baxter dog and his crate.

Does anyone who has the Voyager 6 use it with a dog crate and is there still lots of living space or would be better with the Vango. Price isn't an issue for either although the Voyager has jus gone down to £180 again.

Makes you wonder what the "actual" selling price of the Voyager is supposed to be.Personally I much prefer the Tigris, Vango quality, extra windows so a lot lighter, rain hood over the side door etc etc etc

I agree with arsenaldes, I also prefer the Tigris.

Being a tunnel tent, it will be quicker and easier to put up/take down than the Voyager and you have the option to buy the porch extension for the Tigris which could be an ideal place for the dog's crate.

I'd definately go for the Vango, you tend to see an awful lot of Hi Gear tents for sale on ebay as faulty/ leaking.

Thankyou so much for all your replies. You're definitely helping me sway towards the Vango. I think I have to agree that Vangos reputation for quality is pushing me towards the Tigris aswell.

Do the bedroom pods separate on the Tigris? So you can just put on up at the back like the voyager.

There doesn't seem to be anywhere around here where we can go and see a Tigris up, sorry for all the questions

The Tigris has 1 large 4 berth bedroom pod which goes across the back of the tent and this can be divided to give 2 x 2 berth areas.
A separate 2 berth pod can be hung at the front or omitted completely to give more living space.

Unsure if you can take a rear pod down, or if it's just one pod split in half. But you can remove the pod by the main front door.

No, you can't take one of the rear pods down as it is one large pod that can be divided internally. However you can omit the front 2 berth pod.

Ensure you get the latest model which has a front pod that allows access through the main door even when erected. I believe it also has more head room.

As Helen said the rear pod is one big bedroom with a central divider not 2 separate ones. If youre looking for a good quality decent size tent have you considered the Outwell Cleveland 5. Large size for a 5 birth, separate bedroom, living and porch areas. The smaller 2 berth bedroom can be unzipped and dropped down to accommodate the dog crate. Best of all though Yeomans have it on special offer at £249.99 which is a very good price for an Outwell tent

Ahh right, the thing I like about the V6 is that you can take away one of the back pods making room for the doggy crate and not taking away living room space.

I will definitely have a look at that Arsenaldes, that's a really good price for an Outwell.

Simple question from a simple man....

With reference to the large single pod with dividing curtain, is it not possible (practical?) to set up the pod, clip/zip in the dividing curtain, then simply undo all toggles (Connecting pod to outer tent) to one side of the divider, let it collapse/hang/tuck in where possible,then use the resultant space as part of the living area (or for dog crate etc.) ?

OK, it won't be the tidiest, of course, but surely usable, and do-able,whether the divider is central or off-set? No?

Just a thought!

Hi everyone.

Thankyou again for all your help. After much discussion with the Hubster we've decided to go for the Voyager. And even better news I'm going to pick it up today, yay. So excited and not too sure I can wait for better weather, although I'm trying to convince everyone that a cheeky night away at the end of Feb will be ok for a practice.

We have the Voyager, and for the money, we are very pleased with it... it really is huge (maybe overkill for just the 2 of us, but we like space)
