Hi all,

I'm after a complete new set of Outwell Oakland XL poles

Whats the best way of obtaining them?

We somehow have completely lost ours!!

I've checked the likes of tentspares.co.uk but don't know what I'd need to buy - I can remember that there was a blue and a red duratec pole & also 2 Steel roof poles - But I can't find the sizes of them from anywhere

The ability to buy the whole set again, without the actual tent would be fab.

Can anyone help with the required information?

you will need to contact an Outwell retailer who will be able to obtain a set from Outwell. be aware they are not cheap and is normally cost between 40-55% of the RRP of the tent. so if you got a bargain on the tent originally, this may be quite a shock to you.

Next best place is eBay maybe buying a second hand model that has been damaged.

As already said new complete pole sets will probably be more than the value of the tent. I would contact as many Outwell retailers as possible to see if they have any from an ex demo tent

Can anyone tell me the lenght of the poles on the Oakland XL in order to try and build replacement ones?

I'm most interested in the front and back Durawrap poles set sizes, both the diameter and how many sections are in each length (blue / red sets). This would be fabulous information.

Here's hoping someone can help.

I've found some information on the Red section, is the Blue the same - I still could do with the dimensions of the poles.

"The Red Pole is 595mm including the metal sleeve.so is the one next to it, then theres the 2 poles with a slight bend in the sleeves.on either side they are 634mm, then the next poles are also 634mm finally 2 poles with rubber ends to slot into main frame are 610mm"

For information, just in case anyone else should be looking for a new pole set

I've been quoted for the full set £160-£170

& £48-£65 for a single roof pole section + £12 delivery from Outwell in Denmark via a camping shop.

Hi Munkee, what year is your Oakland XL as that may change the dimensions too. We camped with our 2010 model this last weekend and both our fibreglass poles broke, in a moment of complete and utter madness I binned them both instead of bringing them back to try and fix. I now need replacements of both the red & blue poles and am struggling to get the dimensions of them too :(

I ended up selling the tent without poles and buying a complete 2012 version. I'm not sure of the lengths of the blue and red poles, but I'm sure you could email Outwell to ask. I'd measure mine for you but, the size maybe different

Ah no problem, but thanks anyway. I think the measurements will be different as they look like slightly different designs. Can I be cheeky and ask what you got for the tent minus poles?

£80 - you can pick up a 2012 for between £250 & £300 brand new, which I decided was worth it.

Thanks Munkee, I think i'm coming around to the view that a new tent is more cost effective.
