Hi, a lot of on line retailers now price match if you can show evidence of the same item on offer elsewhere. Go Outdoors specifically say they will beat a competitors price by 10% which then limits you the range they stock. I doubt if you will be able to haggle down prices further than price matches. As an example, if you had a successful price match at Go Outdoors then go back to the original retailer and request a lower price match. As it's the beginning of the season most retailers will not offer big discounts unless they wish to clear 2012 stock.
The best time for price reductions for current stock is at the end of the season by which time the model you want maybe out of stock. You may also find if you ask in store, camping shops are willing to offer discounts or give you extra items for the same price.
Do you have a good independent camping store near by...If you do try and support them by talking to them once you have all your facts about the model and prices. You will find most independents are very good re there prices. Also if you do have any issues with any products you buy it can be easier dealing with a shop you visit often.

I find face to face is normally a better way to help with a little more discount, or an extra little thrown in gift that sweetens the deal
