Lichfield is owned by AMG who also own the Vango brand, but they've kept them quite separate brands. The Kairos was very popular, there's not that many tents that have a small footprint but have stand up height inside. The Lichfield Findhorn comes in a three berth size as well as a four berth and will be as close as you can get unless you get a second hand Kairos on ebay.
Yes, the Kairos 400 was discontinued ages ago, and although a fab design hasn't been repeated. The side doors protected by the pole sleeves are excellent, although we would prefer the inner tent to be detachable to keep it dry when regularly pitching and packing away when touring. I'm playing with the idea of making a new inner tent floor and adding toggles to attach it to the raised groundsheet currently forming the base of the inner tent.
The Findhorn tents have a high spec but don't pitch as tidy and the front door isn't as useful, but have the advantage of still being around. Some of the catalogues were retailing them under a different name last year (can't remember what - sorry!).

I was lucky and found one last year with footprint and carpet. It's only been used twice - each for one night. My circumstances have changed radically with my Mum's illness and I am genuinely thinking about selling it as can't see me having much use for it for a long time. I bought it on the advice of people on this forum (getting a bit decrepit and creaky to crawl around) and although the force of 24 hours downpour last June found one wee leak round the window - the burn rose 6+ feet in as many hours so you can imagine the force of water.
If I decide to sell it (and my son has a say in this too), I'll put an ad onf UKCS but do warn you that getting it to you, should you want it, won't be cheap - we get ripped off in the Highlands and Islands.

Cheers for all your advise and help.
I have now looked at the Findhorn tents and yes they are very very similar, but I do like the idea of the side opening doors.
ficklejade, If you decide to sell please feel free to let me know via this forum and see what we can do.
The only other option may be the Findhorn 4xl which is somewhat larger but does have the side door!
Thanks everybody but have purchased a Kairos 400 and wow what a cracking tent.
very pleased with the space and ease of use.
Thanks again for all your help.
