We presently have a Vango Orchy with additional porch and are looking for something which hopefully will take a little less time to put up!
Anyway looking at the new tent Vango Lomond 600 which has a darkened area in the bedroom, straps to help with the wind but as it's a new tent out it's an unknown and the carpet that comes with it is half the size of the living area! The other is a Kampa Hayling 6, which is very similar in design, has a full size carpet, has a fold down panel under the door (which is useful as we always trip over outs if it's up), but is a bit more money and we don't know much about the make. Has anyone got any comments about either make?

Where do you live...try and see them up, I as a retailer have always stocked the Easy Camp Boston 600 but when the Hayling came out I was going to change over to stocking that but never did due to the Boston 600 selling so well. Well I have now changed to the Lomond and I think you should, its just so solid for a glassfibre poled tent, the sewn in doors can be a pain but in the wind they are so much better than a drop down panel. Anyway, please try and see the Lomond up, its a great tent. In fact Im going to go and do one of my crappy videos people seem to like.
Gary.
Gary I'm sure the video will go viral when you've made it. Personaly I don't like the drop down ground sheet at the door either very draughty in the wind and not bug free

Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again
Cross camping, many thanks for your reply and also to mcquite for the video link. We had a very brief look at Attwoolls in Gloucester the other week and they had both tents up. My other half is down that way tomorrow, so wanted comments before we decide. Our present tent is a Vango and has served us well, just good to consider other options when something else similar is available.
Hmmm, we're looking for a new weekend tent and I think this could be a contender - thanks for the video Gary! Does this tent have a fully sewn in groundsheet?

Apologies for interrupting, If it's this South Farm then you will not be that far away from Cross Camping (8-10 miles). Only reason I'm posting as one of my favourite sites is in Ashwell not too far away from South Farm (small village with three pubs!)
I have to say im not that up on my farms... but yes if thats the farm then not far at all.
We didnt go for the 400 as it was so small and for an extra £70 the 600 is such good value. Even for a couple I think the extra space would be good, its not like you would be charges any extra on a campsite and the pitching time is only a few minutes more.

I won't be camping on this occasion though, as I think getting ready for a wedding in a tent may not work too well ... So I am being posh and staying in a hotel!
Gary, time to swot up on your farm knowledge, ha ha!
Stop encouraging me - this is supposed to be a weekend tent, it's supposed to be small(ish)!!!
