New tent arrived yesterday and went to a local ish caravan park/site where the owners were brilliant and let me put the tent up with no charge - I explained it was new and I just wanted to put it up to check it was ok and that it was all there.
Things I noticed immediately about it - the tent is very heavy and cumbersome to manouvre around in its bag - I'm fairly fit ( goto gym 3 times a week ) and struggled to move the tent bag around, to/from the van. I ended up using a golf cart!
It has an attached / sig sewn in ground sheet. 2 points. This ground sheet is nowhere nearly as tough or as good quality as the super thick/heavy strong detachable ground sheets in my bear and trout lake tents. The bear/trout lakes have a 10,000mm h/h groundsheet. This is only 5000mm and it shows.
The front door can't be propped up using the king poles supplied - only 1 side door can do this.
The windows don't all open like on the bear and trout lakes - only 2 do.
It takes a long time to take down - compared to putting it up because the air moves around the beams as your trying to get it down and the pump cannot be used in reverse because the connection between tent and pump has a 1 way valve in it.
On repacking the tent, I kept the pegs, bedroom pod, pole bag and pump out of the main bag to try to reduce the weight.
These are my 1st impressions - it's not all negative though.
The tent is very airy and comfortable inside. It inflates in 4 minutes but the pump does require considerable effort - and I'm not sure how durable the pump is going to be, it feels a bit cheap/flimsy/budget item.
It s the ideal size for me, bedrooms that I can stand up in the front part and a nice spacious living area.
I feel I'm going to want the front extension/awning though to cook in.

Tent now packed away ( after watching the Outwell video on taking it down! - it only really packs 1 way - to do with the way the airpoles are set up otherwise you'd never get all the air out and the tent would remain huge and not fit back into the bag.
I left out the inner tent, the mat, the king poles, the pump and the rainsafe door pole all to try to save weight.

DH is in love with the Vango Airbeam, I myself dont see the attraction at the moment (we are relatively new to camping, have young-ish children)- i think the struggling with poles etc is part of the fun! However, when we're older, and its just us, I think an inflatable one will be the way to go. Yours looks really sweet, and 7 minutes to inflate is pretty good going, to be fair! Outwells are definitely growing on me, that might be the next purchase (although itll have to be a biggish one to replace our Toronto, cos we just bought a smaller weekend tent last night lol). What size is your Bear Lake, just out of curiosity....

Nice of the site to let you have free rein too!
Nice looking tent, but I've always been put off by sloping "bedroom ceilings". Just a personal bug bear of mine, with little reason to back it up, if I'm honest!
I still haven't seen an inflatable that has made me think "Wow"... thankfully! :-)
With our big Filey, I can just about manage to get it from car to pitch, and even get it up on my shoulder, if need be, but the worst part is getting it up/down stairs to (what used to be!!) the spare room.
These big PC tents do take a lot of handling, but I feel it's all worth it, once they're up.
If you don't mind me saying, hankakampa, I'm getting the impression that you are not convinced?

I suppose that I had it in my mind I was getting " almost " an inflateable, easy to put up / take down bear lake 5 if there was such a thing! The Concorde is bigger than my trout and smaller than my bear - I love the size although a little bit wider wouldn't go astray - by time all the usual paraphanelia goes into the tent I'd imagine its quite cosy.
Next year ill maybe go for the awning / extension to put the cooker in and kitchen items.
Iv got used to the extremely strong tough and very waterproof groundsheet in the trout and bear lake tents, and the fact that they zip in and zip out to save weight in the main tent bag - excellent feature.
Having a thin 5000mm h/h groundsheet in the concorde which is permanently attached, I'm sure it ll be fine but it feels like a step down or backwards compared to the bear and trout tents.
Only having 2 opening windows which are actually the side doors to me is also a bit of a drawback - bear lake has lots of opening windows!
That c shaped front door zipper, I'd have much preferred 2 zips that go up each side and then use the supplied king poles to prop the door open in a canopy style.
I do love how quickly it goes up and that I can put it up on my own. Taking it down I guess will get quicker with practice. It's just a case of getting used to the change.
But it does re-iterate just how good Outwells Bear and Trout Lake tents really are, however I just cannot justify keeping especially the Bear Lake, its just too big for me, but I'm going to miss the quality and the features it has terribly when I sell it.
I'm happy with my Concorde but comparing it to my bear and trout lakes I can say this, the Concorde doesn't feel like a £1400 tent.
When its missing so many of the features, the feel and quality that the bear lake has, it feels more like a £700 tent.
I'm not sure how Outwell come to the figure they sell it at, they don't need to manufacture metal poles for it, just airtubes so where the premium price comes from I don't know.
It needs to have a more substantial groundsheet which is zip in/out, it needs more/all windows that can open, curtains that zip up/down to any level, not just Velcro tabs and a front door that fully opens both sides and can be held open with the king poles.
I bought it because I struggle on my own to put up the bear lake, and the Concorde addresses this handsomely. It's in the detail that it is a little disappointing especially for its price.
But then the next inflateable cotton tent is the Karsten and that starts around £2500 for the basic 350 square and goes up rapidly with extra windows doors etc. so perhaps th Concorde is ok in that respect. It s the most iv ever paid for a tent and the most I ever will I suspect!
