New this so please bear with me

We have a Royal Atlanta 8 with side canopy (this one: http://www.campingworld.co.uk/Models.aspx?ModelID=5246)

We are looking at getting a weekend tent - the Royal Austin 5 and wondered if the canopy we have would work with it. Royal say its not compatible, but has anyone had any experience of trying the two at all?

I'm tempted to give it a go, but just can't decide!

Hi,
we have the Austin 5 and although i've never tried a side canopy, if you want to send any measurements etc I'd be more than willing to measure up to see if it might work next time we have our tent out (should be weekend after this). Or you're more than welcome to visit when we have the tent up and try but we're in suffolk and won't be going any further afield for a while at the moment.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply and for your kind offers, that's really nice of you. However, we took the chance and bought one anyway (found a package deal for £180 for tent\carpet\footprint!) as we figured that even if a bit of "bodging" was required with the porch it would probably fit somehow.

Looking at the size of it I'm not sure we'd need a porch for weekends away in it anyway.

We've not had good enough weather here to try it yet, but we are itching to go. Fingers crossed we'll be off too in the next couple of weeks.
