We own a 2011 Montana 6, which on a camping trip to Wales last year, had the unfortunate experience of having the porch pole snap!
I made a make shift repair using hosing for the rest of the trip, believing I could simply order a replacement pole from Outwell - I couldn't!
I tried ordering a pole from various web sites and camping shops to no avail!
Looking into the matter, seemingly the pole construction appears to be a design fault with the Monty, however the customer service offered by Outwell was appalling.
Undeterred, my solution was to draw out the snapped corner section, cut out the elastic then strengthen the insides with a cheap metal tent peg and cement both corner section to pole. It's not a perfect replacement as I don't have the elastic inside anymore, but do have a much stronger and reinforced porch pole section now.
I am new to posting on this forum but have put together a simple picture guide to show fellow Monty owners who encountered the same problem.

Hi,
Its a nightmare situation where you simply cannot buy a replacement pole, and though I don't have the photos anymore it's a simple repair that is stronger than the original.
1.Take out the elastic cord from the porch pole.
2. Insert cheap tent pegs into the hollow tube and use metal cement to keep them in place.
3. Depending on the location of the fault (if on the corner joint)..simply cement the respective male and female parts together.
The result of the repair leaves you with individual poles, but it's a fraction of the cost of a replacement (if you actually manage to get one!!)

Thank you for getting back to me.
Unfortunately I got the tent without a pole for the porch. If I knew the dimensions of the pole I could buy or make a new one.
Many thanks,
Paul
