Hi, I am the proud owner of a Vango Monte Verde but need a smaller 'Weekend' tent. MV is fine when DH comes too but this summer he is working away. It needs to have enough room for me and 2 children. Idealy with a bit of space as at 11 and 6 they do tend to annoy each other! I need to be able to pitch it by myself or with a little help from 11yo DS. Not really stuck to one brand over another as long as it won't leak on me at 2am! Any suggestions considered. Thanks

We've just bought the Vango Icarus 500 for our smaller/weekend tent, for myself, DH and 2 kids. We have also bought the canopy, which gives space for cooking etc, but i wouldnt have said it was a necessity in a weekend tent (DH 'HAD' to have it!)
Theres plenty of space and headroom, the bedroom can be divided with a little curtain into a 3+2 or left as one big room, which is what we plan to do when its only for a couple of nights.
There seem to be plenty of accessories available for comfort (footprint, carpet, awning etc), so is a bit flexible, and at £189 full price at GO, its maybe worth a look at? We got a bargain on ours, got the tent iteself for £100 because we bought the display model, so thats always an option.
We havent used the tent yet, but we've had it pitched up for cleaning, and I was most impressed with it.
