Hi there, hoping someone will be able to help me! We're planning on buying the Maritsa 700 this weekend, but before we take the plunge I wanted to make sure that the large bedroom would definitely take a double and a single airbed.  Is anyone able to reassure me of this?  Love the look of this tent, but that is a deal breaker!! Thanks in advance

Do you mean the large bedroom as in taking the divider out the middle??

If you were to have the 3 bedroom set up (as it comes) then no I don't think you would fit a double and a single airbed in there - it fits our slightly bigger than double air bed with room for us both to get out either side.

If you were to take the divider out between the 'wardrobe room' and the main bedroom then yes you'd definitely fit the two beds in.

Does that make sense?!

We go away with friends who have also got the Maritsa and they have got 2 kids. They take the divider down to open up the 2 bedrooms and all sleep in there on airbeds, sims and campbeds (no cuddling going on in there!).

The large bedroom pod (with divider taken out) is 340 x 210..

You'd have to have some pretty big beds to fill up that whole space to be fair!

Thanks for the quick replies!  V11X, I was hoping to set it up as 2 bedrooms and a "wardrobe room" and get the double and single in the one bedroom. Doesn't sound likely though.  paul+kate, thanks for the very kind offer but there is a go outdoors close to me so I'll pop down myself to check, I was just being lazy by posting on here 1st!

I'm just really struggling to find the right tent.  We're a family of 5, and I really want a tent that sleeps 5 in comfort plus has a seperate area for my toilet, back to the drawing board it seems!!

I don't know if this pic will help, but this is our bed in the bedroom with the divider up.

I've just checked the sizings of our bed and it is 152 x 203 x 56cm

As I said (and you can just about see) there is room either side of the bed, but not a huge amount, I wouldn't have thought it would be enough for another single bed..

If you were to use the one big bedroom as your sleeping quarters, could you not use the end bedroom as your wardrobe instead?

While its nice having the hanging pole in the middle bedroom, its actually a right pain as it hangs slap bang in the middle of the room and you end up having to push it out the way to actually get in there and do anything. We used it for 1 night and got fed up of limboing around it and now don't bother with it!!

Yes, that is a thought, but then I'd need the large bedroom to fit 2 doubles and a single, might be a bit of a squeeze!

I thought it would be easy buying a tent!!

Hmm.. that might be a squeeze!

You've got 340cm in width in that room - quickly measure your beds and see if you'd fit! Saves you trudging down to GO tomorrow .. although its a good excuse to get a tent fix!

I'm dreading the time when we sprout kids.. I <3 our Maritsa but just got a feeling it might not be big enough for us and 2 kids! We've been a little spoilt having a whole 7 man tent to ourselves haha

Yes, that is fantastically big tent for 2!!  I do love the look of the Maritsa though, maybe I should just give up on my idea to have a seperate storage room!

We call it our weekend mansion :D

I can't think of a way around for you. I think when tent manufacturers say its a 7 man tent they assume you're all going to sleep on the smallest bed possible, I personally think the Maritsa is more a comfy 5 at a push 6 person tent.

So were you thinking of having a dressing/toiet room ideally?? I'm just thinking aloud here, but if its just storage space that's an issue, then the porch you can buy to go on the front of the tent is always an option.

If you check out the reviews I am sure there's a pic in there of the tent with the porch on the front. We've only used our tent once with the porch, but we ended up storing our Erde 142 trailer, and two bikes in there - it adds a ridiculous amount of space :)

It's the dressing room / toilet that I wanted.  But, I think I may have to give up on that plan, like I said.  I have seen the Kampa Croyde 8 online, but I can't see it "in the flesh" and I don't like it as much as the Maritsa anyway!

Thanks for all you help

If its any help We used to have a Maritsa 700 and had our double bed and a kids ready bed in the large bedroom with the divider up, then the wardrobe next to us and our teenage son was in the separate 2 man pod.

We've got two kids and they sometimes like to sleep in the living area instead of one of the bedrooms, could that work for you? It really doesn't even make a dent as its so huge. Then you just tidy it away in the morning and pull the bedroom zips. If there's an issue with privacy then you could also put up a pup tent in the living area?? We love the Maritsa, its a great tent!

Hi
I have had my heart set on the exact same tent!! but after seeing it have realised it wont work for us I like having my double bed in the middle and 1 child each side of us!!! but unfortunatly in the central divede does not come out completly!!!! only un zips so the bottom of the devide is fixed to the floor and slightly up the sides of the bedroom pod if you get what i mean!!!
Im now on the hunt for my next tent infatuation lol
