Just a quick question about this tent. The TBS systems looks like it would be a complete pain and obstructs a good portion of the tent. Do you need to use this all the time or only in extreme winds. Or does it not really get in the way?

We have the Eclipse 600 and have been told the tension straps only need to be used if the weather is bad, the rest of the time they can be folded away.

Hi scamp

I have the little vango omega 350 tent and its fitted with the TBS straps inside.

They just clip in and out and I had them wrapped up in the daytime but we were told by the site owners 1 evening that a bad storm was coming and it arrived promptly at 4am!. Fortunately I had connected the Tbs and it does work, stops the tent from flexing tooooo much in case it snapped the poles, but yes it did get in the way climbing in and out of the bedroom. But then the omega is only a small tent.

It's a useful concept but I wouldn't like to be camping for a whole week of windy weather and have to work/live around those straps.

lol hankakampa if it was howling wind for a week i would be looking at my tent safe in garage with a cup of tea watching telly, lol lightweight i know.

We have the Eternity 600 Airbeam and used it on the weekend. We had strong winds on the first night but with the TBS straps in place it was as solid as our friend's steel poled tent! I left the straps in all weekend end and didn't really notice them.
