After months of research we took the plunge and ordered a Montana 6p!
Just got back from a 3 night trip and we can't seem to get the porch lined up properly can anyone assist?
The porch pole almost seems to long and is resting on the window heavily with the adjuster strap loosened. With the adjuster tightened it looks like it's almost pulling the seam apart on the inside and rubbing heavily to the point we used a buffer between the pole holder and tent.
Can anyone help?!
Many thanks in advance

I think all montana porch poles have had this problem, i know mine did.
You may have to wait for a bit more use from your tent so the fabric stretches into place.
We did but there was still some strain in the fabric.
We took the cord out and Mart had a pipe cutter that plumbers use and we took 1cm on the end of each pole.Pulled cord back through.
Some have been a bit more drastic and just measured and cut a bit off either end.
I did find another post where a few people mentioned taking 10mm off the poles. Went back to Go Outdoors today and noticed the black plastic stopper had ripped the tent on the display model on the part where it rests on the fabric and had heavily scuffed the plastic window so think we’ll be doing some trimming!

Hi
It is a known problem on the Montana but the strange thing is some seem to suffer from it and others dont
------------- Experience enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.
Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again
I’m assuming these tents are still made by Chinese workers and not precision machines? If this is the case then I guess some of the fabric has more give then others. It’s just like if you buy 2 pairs of jeans from a shop, one may fit slightly different.
I think the first couple of times we used our Montana 6P the Rain Safe entrance did seem tight, which made it necessary to hold the fabric when opening the nearest bedroom pod door. However it seems to have sorted itself out now, so maybe the fabric needs to stretch?
When you read these forums, it’s been raised for the last 5 years but as you said, only seems a problem with some people and not others.
