Hi,
I need some help with buying a new tent for me and my 3 young children, I took them on my own last year and we had a blast and my kids loved it !!
I had a Gelert Horizon 8 man tent which broke in a freak storm we had but to be honest it was hard work putting it up by myself!! I managed to get a helping hand from some kind campers but this isn't always possible as not everyone is that kind :0/
So I'm looking for something big enough for us but easy to put up so any recommendation would be very gratefully received.
Kind regards
Sue

Hi have you looked at the Vango Icarus range? I have just bought the 500 one for me and my 4year old and used it for the first time at the weekend, I was sooo impressed with it, easy to put and down, sturdy etc. you may need the 600 for the four of you, but well worth a look I think. I'm sure you will get lots of suggestions though, half the fun is in the looking around! Enjoy!
Try the Qwechua range.. there is another thread on here recommending them. I have a qwechua base seconds xl as an awning for my camper..brilliant..pop up and can stand up. I watched u tube video and had a quick practice in the garden and folded it all up no problem and back in bag within 10 mins..Im your average fairly capable mum :) I wouldnt suggest that particular model as main tent as no bedroom pod but the range is brilliant. The decathlon website has good deals sometimes
Hi there , the Navada M is really easy & quick to put up & take down on your own .
It's a great quality tent & a good size too .
Not too big or heavy when packed away either .
Happy hunting :)

I got a bell tent as I can put that up & take it down on my own with ease (and speed). Bit on the heavy side, but works for me & my 2 children - we have loads of rm in the 5m
------------- Keep calm and carry on camping.

I used to have a Quechua Base Seconds XL and it was great. Simple and quick to put up and I could do it by myself with ease. Taking it down was simple too. Do you have a particular budget?
Thanks for your posts!!
Mmmmmm ok inflatable tents??? That's a new one on me, my tents have always had poles!! I take it there are good or better than pole tents?
Thanks

Inflatable tents have been around for years, but have only been introduced main stream in the last couple. Vango starting the ball rolling with their Airbeam range and now Kampa and Outwell have introduced them also. Vango did have some teething issues and there were many reports from owners having problems, though there were also many happy owners. I think QC may have been a problem. I haven't owned an inflatable but I've seen plenty of demos and always been impressed. If you are putting up tents single handed then they would definitely be worth a look as almost all lifting is eliminated. You simply roll out, peg the ground sheet and blow it up. One downside, however, is the cost. They aint cheap......................
