The classic archetypal two man canvas ridge tent, which the outdoor centre I sometimes work at still use daily, is the Vango Force 10 - the same as your user name. Is that what you are looking for?
Are you sure that Vango bought them out?
As far as I remember the Vango company was formed in the early 70's and the Force Ten was the first tent that they made. I bought my Force Ten in 1974 and still have it.
hiya from what i saw on the ebay listing that sold the conquest it says the tent was taken on by vango not sure if its tru but its identical to my force ten mk4 just the inner tent is made of different material and the pole connectors are solid metal.my vango was second hand and is in good nick and the flysheet is still bright orange.
Vango bought the rights to produce the A framed Ridge from Conquest. Conquest continued to manufacture and trade for a number of years, producing such tents as the Conquest Tourer (A ridge with an extended cotton fly) and Conquest Roamer (a 2 man transverse ridge). Most of Conquest's production went to the MOD and youth organisations. However over time Vango, who was a much bigger company, came to dominate the UK ridge tent market and Conquest ceased trading in the mid 90s.
