I've had the Outwell Georgia XL for a few years now. I absolutely love it but it was always very hard to put up with my wife struggling to help. So we wanted a good sized tent that was easy to put up.
We bought the Hi Gear Kalahari 10 yesterday as it was on offer at Go Outdoors. We probably rushed the decision as the offer ends today and it was a 'Get it now, or never'
Could you let me know what your experiences are with this tent? Is it simple to put up with just the two of us (and the littl'uns running around our feet)?
thanks in advance as always

When i bought the tent, there was two different styles of bags. I picked up the tent with the higher quality thicker more durable materialed bag (a kind of dark green colour), but they had the same tent in a light blue bag made of a similar material to the tent?
The staff in Go Outdoors said there was no difference between the two bags and I'd be better off with the better quality bag. Im just wondering if I've now got a previous years Kalahari 10 and if there was any difference with the new tent if that is the case.
Does anyone have any ideas?
thanks as always

hi, got the kalahari 10 and all the gubbins to go with it, very very easy to put up with hubby and me. a couple of poles in and it will stand upright and its lovely and spacious, we upgraded to a tin tent though and now our kids use it. got the original bags (didnt know there were different kinds) a very heavy tent to lug about, but can honestly say that its easy to put up, im only small and we put it up in 20 mins including pegging out. we have never had any leaks and hardly any condensation due to it being a really good head height. if you havent got the porch, i would get it, its roomy and strong.

thank you, thats very reassuring to hear. We've only got the tent, not the porch carpet or footprint. That'll probably have to wait for a year or so unless a realy bargain crops up!
We're hoping to pitch it this weekend at my motherinlaws if the weather holds out so we can check it out before our main trip in July.
Thanks again for the advice, its greatly appreciated

Great tent - we love ours. We bought ours three years ago and also got the green coloured bag. I can only imagine they have changed the bag and you're caught in the crossover, but you've got the tougher, better bag by the sounds of it. (incidentally, you should have two bags - one for the tent and one for the inner pods and poles!).
Very easy to pitch - around half an hour or so. Get the porch, footprint and carpet if you can. The porch adds significant space.
We are a family of five so only need one bedroom pod up - masses of space. This year though we are off to Cornwall with 9 of us in total so have a 3m x 3m day tent for extra room to cook etc.
You won't be disappointed.
