Hi, Im new on this site. Just wondered if anyone can advise on the Vango Ventura 500 tent. Going camping in a coupla weeks time and have borrowed my sons tent (only used once)I've had a very quick look at it in the garden but was unable to put it up completely (small garden). Its in good nick and has three large poles for the outer, but I also saw a smaller thinner pole and couldn't suss out what this was for. Any idea anyone?

Hi, I have a later version of this tent, but basically they are the same. (Tamor)
The thin pole will almost certainly be what is called a brow pole, and goes inside the tent where the front of the inner attaches to the outer tent.
If you look in the tent review section under vango venture500, picture 16 of 17 I think the black line top middle is the pole in question. Or that may be the webbing strap, and if so the pole fits into either end of this strap. I've not used this tent for a couple of years so not absolutely clear in my memory.

------------- Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.
We had a Venture 500, and the small, thin pole went inside, in front of the bedroom area, seated in two brass eyelets in webbing straps at either side. It stopped the roof of the tunnel from sagging.
We only stopped using ours when the fabric went thin and crackly and wasn't waterproof anymore, but it was a few years old and very well-used by then, and had stood up to baking summers (going back a bit!), and strong gales and torrential rain in Cornwall like a trooper.
We had many happy trips away in our Venture - hope you will too!
