Hi, I have a later version of this tent, but basically they are the same. (Tamor)
The thin pole will almost certainly be what is called a brow pole, and goes inside the tent where the front of the inner attaches to the outer tent.
If you look in the tent review section under vango venture500, picture 16 of 17 I think the black line top middle is the pole in question. Or that may be the webbing strap, and if so the pole fits into either end of this strap. I've not used this tent for a couple of years so not absolutely clear in my memory.

------------- Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.

It could be a spare pole. Sometimes you get a spare section in your pole bag just in case.
