Hope you are all in good form. Has anyone any experience of the Vango Kirby 500 / Arlay 500? Halfords have the Arlay 500 on sale at the moment but as you can see Vango dont have much info on their website. It does look from the photos similar to the Kirby 500.
I bought one yesterday! (Came across your post afterwards). Having had a disastrous camping weekend in a gelert corona 6 , I promptly took it back to tesco for a full refund!
Searched the Internet and found the vango arlay for £100 down from £289.99 so thought we'd give it a try!
I've yet to get it out the bag, but wondered if anyone else has tried this tent?
Very interested in views on this topic as I have just purchased the arlay 500 in halfords and although the make vango is well respected this particular model seems light on reviews and the pic of the arlay and the kirby appear exactly the same...
We've just pitched out Arlay 500 for the first time and have to say we are very impressed with the quality of the tent.
I was pleasantly surprised (and relieved!) to find the windows all have blinds on; as I couldn't find information on whether it had these features before I purchased it!
Absolute bargain so far! (£100 in the Halfords sale)
The living area is a very good size, and this is coming from somebody camping with three very active little boys, so space us crucial!!
Very pleased with our purchase :-)

Spent the night in my new arlay 500 last night. Very impressed with the size and space inside. Had a great nights sleep. My only quibble is that there was a lot of rain in the early evening and the inside of the tent roof in the living space was wet to touch and there was even some drops of water falling from the ceiling onto the groundsheet sporadically.i assumed that a hh3000 rating would mean a dry ceiling? am I right to be concerned?
Should I return to halfords? Interested in views. It couldn't have been condensation as this occurred only a few hours after putting the tent up.
Hi
Its condensation which you will get in any polyester tent in wet weather make sure you have all the vents open
------------- Experience enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.
Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again
thanks for the reply. all vents were open but it was a very prolonged heavy downpour so im not sure if it was leaking or condensation. as I said we were only a couple hours in the tent on its very first ever pitching when the rain started and the inside of the tent ceiling became wet to touch. I hope it was only condensation and not a leaking as I love the tent otherwise
