Hello, Newbie here :) We recently purchased our first family tent in the form of a Kampa croyde 6 2012 model. It came as a package deal with the footprint and carpet. We purchased the canopy seperately. We used it for the second time last weekend in Carnforth and experienced some bad weather on Saturday night. It stood up to the storm winds quite well apart from the front section having to be pegged back down again at 1:30 am :( I`m aware that this should be stowed away in poor conditions. Our main concern was the amount of water the tent let in, it rained very very hard for around 3 hours. The rain eventually eased off but continued till approx 8:00 am. There were several large puddles of water in the tent and our guest who was staying in the main area was soaked. It appeared to be coming in from the various securing points holding the inner roof poles down and the zips on the side doors. Two SIG straps also failed and didn`t look like they had been stiched correctly. I have been offered a refund from the online supplier who I can`t fault really. My main concern is that this has kind of put us off the Kampa now. We read lots of reviews - as you do - and liked the look of the Kampa and it`s built in front porch. I`m now stuck between buying an Outwell montana ( which my brother - in - law has) or the newer version of the Kampa? Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated :) Dan.
