Starting to think about those lazy, hazy days and have decided to ditch the Diablo 600. Fantastic tent but just too big and the wife has to enlist the entire campsite to help put it up if I am not on the trip.
So, we are downsizing a bit and have narrowed it down to Coleman's Weathermaster or Sahara 4 vis-a-vis. Can anyone recommend either of them - or indeed advise against them? We want some space for two youngsters, plenty of ventilation and light.
By the way, the Diablo is for sale - one season (5 outings) old.
Thanks in advance for the help.

I have the Weathermaster and I put it up by myself, it would be an excellent tent for your wife and kids, but don't think it would be big enough for the 4 of you. Not enough living space. I leave one bedroom out to give a larger living area. The main advantage the weathermaster has over the sahara is that the outer goes up 1st (or leave the inners in and erect all as one), so keeping the inners dry if you have to erect the tent in the rain. I have used the tent for 4 people using both inners, but it would be a bit of squash for the 4 of you cooped up in there in bad weather.
I'd have to say the Weathermaster easy to put up inners in one person can do it easy, we have the plus one so roof can be opened for a bit of summer star watching all in all a great tent.
------------- Lifes all the better when you get old!!!!!!!
We have the Sahara 4 Vis a Vis and it is great for two adults. I wouldn't fancy having two adults and two children in the tent though. We use one of the bedrooms as additional living space.
It's a superb tent though - double skin throughout, so no condensation at any time. The doors and canopies all around the tent mean that it can be very versatile in hot or cold conditions. You can choose which doors to open depending on wind direction.
Forgot to say that it can be put up inner or outer first. If you put it up outer first, it would be better to have two people working at it. Inner first is managable by one person.

it seems both tents are excellent but you should have a look at both erected to decide whether there is enough space for your family.
Although I am a loyal Coleman fan, have you had a look at the new Outwell Montana range, very similar to the Weathermaster and Sahara, they come in 4, 6 or 12 berth. (why do I feel like a a traitor every time I mention the Montanas)?
I see you promoting the weathermasters again and why not, great tent but you forgot to tell about the sewn in groundsheet. Hope you are looking forward to getting out there soon luv, I am praying I get a chance to use mine this year as much as possible. BUT i agree with the others WHY are you looking at others go buy a weathermaster and be a happy camper.
Regards
Steve.

Hi Steve, yes I am still telling everyone how brilliant the weathermaster is, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone if I didn't think it was the right tent for them, in this case, I think they would be better with a bigger tent, pity there isn't as Weathermaster PLUS PLUS PLUS!!!
Would have to agree with misselaineous above, Weathermaster is the best tent I have ever been in/used but can be abit small long trips or in bad weather. Oddly enough we changed ours for a Diablo 600.
I have to agree about the weathermaster, BUT as it is looking like I'm gonna be in it on my own ( wife just not into camping in anyway shape or form) I think it will be big enough for me hahaha. I will only need to put in one inner and leave the other out so as to give me plenty of room, maybe invite a few Weathermaster people, or UKCS members round for a drink and nibbles hahaha.
Interesting comments on the Weathermaster. We have a Wynnster Condor 6 dome tent at present, but its quite difficult to pitch and seems to take forever. It will be quite a bit bigger than the Weathermaster, but having seen a weathermaster I think this may still be big enough for 2 adults and 2 children, at least if you leave a pod out during the day. Looks easy to pitch as well.
Anyone out there with a Weathermaster care to offer some advice
Hi and welcome to UKCS topcat, the Weathermaster is very easy to pitch, and in windy weather like we had at the weekend, it really is outstanding. You can peg the tent in each corner while its still flat on the ground, and the heavy steel poles will weight it down until you can guy the tent out. Good idea of yours, leaving one inner out in the day, think I shall do that this weekend when there will be 3 of us using it.
