Hi all,

I have just taken delivery of an Outwell Amarillo 6 - Very disappointed as it doesnt come with the wind stabiliers that are in the Outwell video. I have confirmed that this is a 'change in design' to reduce costs and Outwell clearly forgot to update the video from the prototype.

Anyway, the supplier, SimplyHike has offered a refund (provided I pay the £35 to send it back) because having had this system on a Vermont XLP I want another tent with that system on it.

I am keen on the Montana 6P but can anyone advise if this tent definitely has the stabilisers on it please? I'm inclined not to believe what I see in the Outwell spec any more.

Many thanks

Is there an ordinary Montana 6 (ie not 'P') or is it just that not everyone refers to the P ?

If there is a 6 and a 6P, does the standard 6 have the stabilisers ?

Thanks

Regarding the wind stabiliser system the Robens branded tents use a slight variation to minimise weight in their trekking tents - simply wrap the guyline around the adjoining pole before pegging for the same stablising effect (their tents have an elongated webbing strap to reduce rubbing but the theory is valid for any tent and with guyline as cheap as it is, it won't break the bank to replace a few if they wear down)

Thanks folks,
I confirmed with Simply Hike that the Montana 6 DOES have the stabiliser system fitted and they agreed an upgrade for me - including delivery collection, so fab customer service and one happy bunny.
