hi guys

new to family camping (but been a night fishermen for years myself), i brought a leben but was not impressed with the tent at all so resold it after the first outing...

we have not been put off and the kids love it but the misses wants a sewn in ground sheet and i'm looking at new tents now i have come across the vargo Aspen 500dlx and im loving the look shape and assembly i'm just wondering if any one has one or knows of them for any bad points

Hi Jason, the fist thing to consider would be the age of the tent as they have been discontinued for quite a while.
Good points - a very solid and sturdy tent(not sure how many kids you have as the 500 is 5 berth but wouldn't sleep 5).
Bright and airy.
Bad points - very heavy and a bit of a handful to erect as it's inner first with steel poles.Can be a problem in the rain as the inner can get soaked before you've got the outer on.
Takes up a lot of space when packed.
A lot of work for short stays.

thanks guys

i brought the tent anyway ive got the space for it and i have seen the assembly process and i'm quite happy i shouldn't have a problem putting it up or transporting it

i'm going to take it out the weekend and put it up just to air it and make sure everything is ok and working (fingers crossed aye
