Hi, Can anyone recommend a tent for cycling trips. I'm looking to do the odd 1-2 day local cycle trip and camp for the night. I'm looking for the smallest pack size, lightest weight that can fit one / two people. I'm looking at less than £300 and would appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks

Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes
300 quid seems a load of brass for a tiny tent..Have a look on the well known internet auction site under the heading *ridge tents* You can pick up some real bargains there.
Wild Country Duolite tour . I have one and it's ace. Very strong incredibly quick to pitch and more than enough space for two .
Sports direct have them for £200.00 . And Springfield Camping were I got ours is doing a price match !
We would have loved one for our world tour !
I have two back-packing tents. I have the Vango Apex 200 and the Terra Nova Laser Comp 1. The Vango Apex 200 is a fantastic little tent and I've probably used it more than any other of my tents as it has a bit of headroom for sitting up in, it has a bit more space and it has a decent size porch for your gear, boots and panniers etc.. I agree with the negatives posted in the reviews on here and elsewhere i.e. sticky zip and the ridiculously small bag but I have learned how to use the zip so it doesn't stick (or just live with it!) and the sack eventually ripped so I replaced it with a exped drybag. The Laser Comp 1, like any other similar design of tent suffers from condensation but the build quality far surpasses the Vango. It's okay for sleeping in but I would hate to spend a few hours in it during the day escaping a rain shower. Another obvious choice would be an Akto. I have a Hilleberg tent and the quality is amazing. HIlleberg really do think of everything. The Scarp 1 from Tarptent (direct from US as far as I know) is also worth considering. A bloke pitched one next to me a couple of years back and it looked really impressive and he was really pleased with it. CTC has a sub-forum re camping gear which would also be worth checking out to get a better response from cycle tourers.
