Hi, and welcome to the forum.
It may be leaking, of course, but while you have pools of water lying on it, it could be simply too much for it! First thing you should do is put it up again.... and tighten it all up! Rain should not be allowed to collect/pool, and should all run off. See what happens then (overnight, in the rain again, ideally) and get back to us if you still have water inside.
I'm also led to believe that touching the inside is a no no, but not sure if that is material specific, (is that just for canvas?)so stand to be corrected.
As for the zips, is it a dodgy zip, or is it simply too tight to zip up? All zips should be closed before you make your final adjustments to the guys etc, so the tent is shaped correctly.
All sites are different when it comes to pitch sizes/unit sizes they will accept/charge more for. Always best to find the site you like the look of, then call them directly, discussing the size of your unit.
I suspect, on most occasions, you will be unaffected.
Not familiar with your tent, so can't help with the rest.

Hi
I have just bought this tent 'out of showroom' offer (the blue previous edition)& love the size & light inside
I have a few queries please:
- we did a trial pitch in the garden - didn't sleep in it, & had it all zipped up over night - the next day on touching the roof interior to push the water pools off from the overnight rain - several drops of water came through; I also found some water on the floor when I took the bedroom down, but don't know where from; - is this to be expected (& do we need to avoid touching the interior anywhere to avoid water ingress), or a problem I need to return to the seller on?
When it comes to the crunch it is very rare for a tent to actually leak. If this is the first use it's likely some water has come through the seams, but getting it wet and it drying our will have 'weathered' the tent and tightened it up so this shouldn't happen next time. A pool of water sitting on the fabric for a decent length of time might get through eventually, but not massively. If it was windy water can be blown through air vents - you can;t stop this really. And lastly, you shouldn't rule out condensation on the inside if it was even a little humid or dewey when you initially pitched it. Keeping the air vents open would minimise this
- the main door into the canopy is extremely hard to zip down the vertical, especially when it goes round the corner from the horizontal (a 2 person job). I tried loosening guys, letting the frame legs inward - no change. help please
This type of door is almost always an issue if it is open when you erect the tent. Put the poles in with doors open, close the door before you put in the first peg and don;t open it again until all the guys are out.. That should relieve the tension on the door
- what is the right method to peg down the sig tapes points? (just below the elastic drip sheet points); they are just a doubled-back sewn flat tape, so don't provide the normal ring to put a peg into
Yes, use this as your anchor point.
- if you don't erect the canopy, do you need to take the guys off these, to use on the main tent arch instead please?
Not sure on the canopy - I thought it was integral? But if it comes off then yes, the front of the tent will need some support and you can either invest in new guylines or use the ones you have
Also I notice a site here regarding 'big tents' When are tents classed as bigger than expected? Am I now in that class?
The Croyde 6 is a big family tent but it will invariably fit into a standard size pitch and if it doesn't the site owner is having a laugh. C&CC club pitches are typically 8x6m
Many thanks for any help - I haven't camped since using an lovely old canvas frame tent many decades ago!
