I would worry about that. If the wind bends the tent over toward the peg, as can often happen with fibreglass poled tunnel tents, it looks as if the guy rope would just slip off the hook.

Incidentally, the yellow guy ropes that Outwell supply are very elastic in themselves. If you add more 'spring' to the guy ropes the tent will be dancing.

Totally agree. Both my original kampa guys, and the hi-viz stuff I replaced them with, seem "quite stretchy" in their own right.
Not very conclusive, I admit, but I'm still to be convinced that I need to add to them.
