a new one? - at the start of the camping season - almost full price id say if you can get it for 900.00 - 1000.00 for a brand new one then its not a bargain but it ll be a brilliant tent for a long time.
a 2nd hand one - its very hard to say because it depends on the age and condition of the tent.
remember the 2013 model brought a major front end change, personally i preferred the 2012 model - the flat front made it way more useable inside than the sloping sides do.
i sold my 2012 bear lake 6 in immaculate condition with the green stripes cotton bedroom pods for 675.00 last year.
it was like a new tent and i do miss it except it was just too big and heavy now that im single again. i replaced it with several tents, an inflateable concorde L and a bear lake 4 with the green stripes cotton bedrooms 2012 flat fronted model.
as a tip - try to get the front extension for it, makes for a very nice wide open sheltered place to sit and relax/ eat etc. the canopy which comes as standard is a bit useless for anything other than stopping rain coming in the front door - you cant really sit under it if its raining unless you all sit huddled close together or that you dont mind getting wet.
as soon as i bought my bear lake 4 i got the front extension for it.
have you looked at obelink at their tents?
they also have cotton tents similiar in size to the bear lake 6 and the prices are very reasonable.
one more thing - the pre 2013 tents have a pole on either side at head height which runs from front to back of the bear lakes ... it gives the tent excellent rigidity in windy conditions - the newer 2013 onwards models dont have this - a backward step!.
whats your budget, this will help us to help you!.

i would of loved a 2012 bear lake 6 but didnt have the funds at the time then got side tracked with inflatables and a vermont xlp
imho they ruined the bear lake with the panoramic front the 2012 model is and was one of the greatest tents outwell and their competitors ever made it was the bench mark in my personal view
so if you can get a good bl6 2012 for £600 or less then id grab it with both hands
