Hi all,

I have 5 camps between now and the end of July, with DofE, Scouts & Cubs (I volunteer a lot...)

I currently have a Vango Tempest 300, which is fine and dandy, but last year I got a bit sick of putting it up and down by myself. Fine if my husband is around to help, but he won't be for 4 out of the 5 camps.

I would love a tent that is just a little bit easier and quicker to put up by myself.
I like a little bit of room so generally go for a 3-man, but a spacious 2-man would be ok, as long as I have a porch to stash my boots. I don't want a pop-up, I have some already and they are not suitable.

Has anyone got any recommendations?

Many thanks

If you don't want to stand up in it the Coleman Tauri tents are excellent. I have a 3 man one for Cub camps, (usually a couple of nights), and it goes up and down so quickly. There is enough room in the 3 man to sit up and also for a low camp bed too if you wanted. It has a small porch more than big enough for a pair of walking boots.   I have had several tents that I have used over the years for Cub camps and this one has been the best of all of them.

I can recommend the Coleman Phad X3. It's a good size; porch has groundsheet which can be zipped out if muddy; really easy to pitch; lightweight; alloy poles (one end of the pole sleeve is closed, so only x ring and pins to do); great ventilation and a good sized porch.

Oh yes, bargain price to boot!

I have a Vaude Terratrio 3P, it is super quick to put up took me 5 minutes. It's got two poles and I think two guy lines. I haven't slept in it yet though so can't comment on what it's like though Vaude are good tents. It was a tad on the expensive size though. The only downside I found is that the porch doesn't have a ground sheet but then that might be good thing, my walking boots tend to get very muddy.

Thank-you everyone, some great recommendations here.

Evochic - this looks like a great tent, although probably too large for what I want here. However, it would make a great weekend tent for my husband and son when they head off into the wilds, as they have a tendency to do. What would the P&P on it be?

Thanks,

Arwen
