Hi everyone.

I have a Montana 5P - it only has the option of an additional Awning but I prefer the extension - does anyone know of an extension that would fit the 5P - I have heard that the 6P extension is too big - but would it fit? or is there another tent extension that would be better? Any thoughts greatly received :)

Hi Larah1968,

Just wondered if you ever found a solution?
We too have a Montana 5P and would prefer an open extension to the awning, but the 6P one is too wide!

Would be interested if you or anyone else has found an extension for a different tent that fits ok?

Thanks
Becki

Hi Becki

We went with the awning in the end - it's actually great and makes the tent much bigger if away for longer than a couple of days. We didnt bother putting down the groundsheet in it the last time we used it as the weather was good and with the front doors rolled back it was lovely.

Hope that helps
Cheers
Lara

Hi Lara,
Thanks for that. Glad your purchase has worked out! I think we're going to look for one in the end of season sale.
Out of interest... Is the front door on the awning any wider than the front door on the tent ?
Thanks
Becki

No the door to the awning is the same size I think as to the tent. However you can role the door up and then you can roll back the sides to the door diagonally to make it a bigger opening.

Hi Larah1968,

I posted this on another members thread who was looking for an extension for an earlier Monty but it may work for you as well.

This may be an option as it work's well for us. We wanted an enclosed extension on our BL6 for the kitchen odds and ends and whilst the side or larger front canopy type extension are big enough we didn't like them being open. So, having looked at sizes etc we grabbed an Outwell Country Road drive away awning that is intended to be used with a camper van. However with it pitched next to the BL the tunnel connection section of the awning, normally used to connect to the camper van, fits perfectly against the side of the BL and I have simply extended the top 2 fixing straps and added 2 C clips so it now connects to the 2 upright poles either side of the side door of the tent.

Now we have an enclosed kitchen area with its own door out plus room to eat in there if its raining plus it can be closed off from the main tent.
