We are looking for a new week end tent, and a Vango Mira 500 rather takes our fancy. I have looked online for the measurements of the sleeping areas but it is not very clear.

Does anyone know if the smaller of the two sleeping areas fill fit a double blow up mattress? Need to know because if it doesn't the tent will not suit us. Thanks!

Not sure about the sizes but I'm uhmming and ahhing over buying this tent. I have till end of the month pay day to decide! I'll be interested to hear about it if you click that buy button. Have you seen one up, or just buying from what you've seen online?

Hi, Yes I saw one up yesterday. Looked a really neat little tent with a very large living area. Liked the steel poles too. Will keep you posted if I treat myself!

Oh I'm glad you said that about the living area, as although there will only usually be two adults sleeping in it we need a large living area as we will be camping with our daughter and two grandchildren so somewhere we can all sit indoors (if needed) is important. Can you confirm both doors have insect screens so it's totally enclosed? This is the mistake we made when we bought our icarus a few years back.

Have you bought yet? My finger is hovering over the buy button, but I'm apprehensive as I've never bought a tent I've never seen in the flesh before. I'm pretty convinced it's the right tent for us but still.........

Not yet. I have to sell a couple first which I have listed on ebay and as soon as they are gone I have permission to make the purchase. Will keep you posted!

Hi all,

Don't know if you hit the buy button, but we own the mira and I can say its a cracking tent, great living space, fly sheets at all doors, and yes a double air bed just fits in the smaller bedroom.

I did click buy! Treated myself to the porch too. Just got back from a long week-end in France, and love the tent!!
Bedrooms plenty big enough, and a huge living space. Feels really sturdy and well made too. Really happy with my choice.
