We got a Icarus 600 for a weekend tent with canopy, there are only 4 of us but sometimes take another child so wanted the option. Used it a few time last year for weekends and loved it. So quick to get up as well.
------------- 2015 sites booked so far: Cotswold Farm Park, Ninham IOW, still some more to book
Now the question is :
What is the difference to us between an isis and an icarus? I've seen the blurb and they look the same. How would I know they are different?
Although my tent is quite a large 6 man tent it is often described as a weekend family tent, which is a little worrying because I camp solo and mid week. Perhaps I should buy a smaller mid week tent.
Bob, surely a weekend tent should be smaller than a midweek tent (there being 2 days to weekend and 5 to a mid week or is it 3 - Tues, weds and Thurs). in which case you would need a weekend tent, midweek tent or working week tent or full week tent.
Maybe yours is a 1 person with extra luxury space for entertaining.

Just been looking at Gary's site (Cross camping).

I swear they look identical to me as well.
There is a few centimetres difference in the dimensions (can't remember exactly which ones) but really other than that I fail to see any difference at all.
I have found a lot of manufacturers change some minor detail then re-launch the same tent under another name and, of course, a higher price. The Outwell Carolina 3 became the Outwell Carolina M which had the door on the opposite side and a slightly modified connection for the end poles. Apart from that it was identical.
We had the same problem Montana 6 too much for a weekend, dropped on a gelert corona 6 in Tesco doing my weekly shop last autumn, £37. Tried it out at easter it's fab. We took divide out of bedroom and had a huge space. Living area took all the kitchen stands and cupboards plus table n 4 chairs it's got a sig side & front doors and plenty of Windows. If it had mesh doors I'd probably use it for longer periods as it's extra lightweight and small.

The Gelert Corona does seem to change price every time it's available on Tesco.com. You may find a few on ebay cheap as people like me buy them then they just gather dust until you realise it's just not going to get used, I've listed ours on gumtree.
I have been looking on ebay , pre loved and gumtree but they are all too far to go.
RachlN there are a few cms every year the tent is changed. I have seen sellers on eBay using the dimensions of a 2014 tent when the text reads a 2012- well the dimensions are similar.
Bob - any job would suit me, am a stay at home mum. Dd1 said the other day "shall we go with daddy or the grumpy one?" - that's me!
