It's tough. If you are not in a rush take a look at some of the posts on here and see if anything jumps out at you. Maybe make a list of must haves and a budget. Remember always go above the berths you need, you need 4 so buy 6 or more. Is it important you all sleep together or seperate? Make a list and a budget and I'm sure others will be only too willing to give advice on certain tents. Good luck, I'm currently trying to work out which new tent to buy.

We loved our old Outwell Nevada xl, it was the same layout as the Khalahari 8 with bedrooms at both ends. We had a porch too, it was great! If you prefer to have the boys closer to you, then this may not suit. I found it really easy to put up too.

Hope you find your perfect set up

If I had the budget for an air tent then that would be my choice.

Work out what you are going to sleep on first as this could well determine which tent is going to suit you.

We are a family of 4 - mum, dad, two boys aged 3 and 5. We have 4 Outwell Posadas single camp beds as inflatable mattresses just didn't work for us. Our tent is an Obelink Familia 6. It is polycotton with 3 bedroom pods. We can (just about) fit in all four camp beds with the pods zipped up. We have one child at one end, we go in the middle and the other boy in the other end. They are effectively in separate bedrooms but we can easily upzip the dividing walls so that we are all in one big bedroom if needs be.

It is large enough for us and it has a zip on porch which we use as a kitchen. It also has a zip in ground sheet which we prefer.

I looked initially at the Outwell Wolf Lake 7 but couldn't justify the cost. The cost of the Familia 6 was quite a bit lower! Take a look at the Obelink website. I think the quality is excellent and the service was very good.

Hope this helps.

My children are similar ages to yours and we have a Montana 6P.   It is a fantastic tent very well made and sturdy.   The side porch works very well as a night time toilet as well!    It may not be something you wish or want to think about having in your tent, but believe me trudging across a cold dark campsite for the second or third time that night soon loses its appeal!

We have separate pods, so we are in one and the children are in the other.   To us this means that we can put them to bed and then either quietly chat in the tent or just outside, then go to bed without disturbing them too much.   Ths seems to work for us.

The children are on camp beds at the moment, which I layer up, but we sleep on a sim.   This was an emergency holiday purchase last summer when we eventually lost patience with our 10yr old inflatable.    I've been so impressed with it that I think I will probably get sims for the children once their campbeds have fallen apart (they were cheap ones).
