hi all, anyone have experience with khyam ? must say id never heard of them before, looking into the khyam chatsworth 4 as a possible new tent. any thoughts ?

Only what I've just read...

"The flysheet is Khyam's own Weatherweave Pro, a durable double coated polyester with 5000mm hydrostatic head waterproof protection and fully taped seams".

Sounds good, maybe even very good... but polycotton it ain't!

Hang on... I may have been a tad hasty... maybe older ones have been polycotton?
Have you seen an ad for a polycotton? Are we talking brand new, or an older used model?

As for Khyam in general, I'm not overly familiar with them myself, but I get the impression they are a "recognised and reasonably respected" manufacturer... at the very least.

I may not have been much help, but at least the sad blue face has now gone!!

They did make a poly cotton some years ago, not sure if they still do as they now tend to sell direct or through a few retailers. I can't remember what level of poly cotton it was as in was it a 65% cotton 35% polyester etc. I can't remember if they had a sewn in groundsheet either but they were always good quality. My thoughts are they were fast pitching in their day but now there are inflatables... Im sure it will be a lot less than a polycotton inflatable though.

yeah its a second hand tent mucker, just the ease of pitching i was looking for, i also seen the coleman instant family 4 though they look a bit flimsey. cant find one on show to go look at, so stuck to trawling the internet lol
