We have a Vango Isis 600. This is the replacement for the Vango Icarus 600. We pitched it and realised the windows on the front on the tent and their associated curtains are faulty. The curtains close by a stretchy toggle and then a piece of fabric (it is like the groundsheet) that does not stretch. It is so tight to close them that it has ripped the fabric the curtains hook onto, which will over time just rip completely meaning the curtains will be useless.

Hi
What is it you want to know... Just take it back to the retailer and depending on how old it is they may just swap it or send it off to Vango's superb repair centre.

Hello Gary. I just want a refund and to buy another tent.
Is the Icarus like this? Eg does it have the same way to close the curtains? Seems like a design fault to me. To put something that is so tight and rips so easily seems ridiculous.
Do you think those little fabric tabs that are sewn into the tent should be something else? They feel like they should be stretchy and also are in the wrong place hence why they stretch so much. Retailer said they want to send it off for testing. What a pain.
That's how they are on the Icarus but they are not as tight as yours although without seeing the tent pitched fully its always hard to comment to much. Its a standard way Vango and many other brands hold the curtains back but its never normally a problem. Maybe just ask them to swap the tent as its a great little tent. If all you are bothered about is the fault and the tent is the right size (which it must be because you chose it) etc then no worries, there is always going to be one with a fault now and then.

Thanks Gary. The pitch it was on was really flat. We even loosened off all the guide ropes but both sides were the same. Seems a very poor design in my opinion. Our old tent (Vango Samara 600) has zipped curtains all the way round. The Isis is listed as having all zip up curtains. We got a refund anyway.
