Hi , at last we are using our Nevada mp tent on our first trip of the year and really like it ,but the the thing that is confusing me is that when you attach the awning to the tent you have too leave off the front side pole guy ropes coz the awning wraps round them ,thus it looses a vital bit of stability especially when we were hit by a violent squally piece of weather this morning the tent just about handled it ,or am I doing something wrong in the pitching , would appreciate any advice on this from any other mp owners cheers

The Nevada, like most tents that have a bespoke front canopy, will require the front sidewall and centre guy pegging to be omitted. You can peg them within the canopy but this is less than ideal in terms of space and the actual benefit they will provide as they will probably be at a less than efficient angle in relation to the tent. Thats just the way it is I'm afraid: you sacrifice a little tent stability for the convenience a canopy provides.

I've found this not to be much of an issue in the grand scheme of things and have only once had to take down the canopy on my Nevada M when the weather got very bad wind wise. It's something to keep at the back of your mind that you may have to do this at some point if the wind turns on you (as a tent user the most vital piece of information in weather forecasts for me is always wind speed, gust speed (the real "tent killer") and direction).

And finally, the canopies instructions will say that it should only be used in calm conditions anyway. In reality the Nevada plus canopy combination can take a fair bit of gusting so I wouldn't worry too much.
