Having camped last week in the rain with our new Vango Evoque, we had some issues with rain coming into the porch/awning. It was coming in at both sides where it attached to the tent, dripping down from the edges of the zip inbetween the awning and the tent 'skirt' bits at the sides. It was also coming in through the teeth of the zip on one side, despite the flap being velcro'd down?

I am wondering if we had it too far forward, but was hoping for some tips on pitching. The pictures on Vango's website show a near seamless join, with none of the 'skirt' of the tent showing at the sides, but we can't get it to pitch like this?

Any advice from owners or dealers will be much appreciated.

To be fair I don't think you will be doing much wrong, all canopies fit ok but not perfectly. You could give the zips a good spray with a waterproofing spray as this help the zip to run smoothly and also dispels (not sure if that's even a word) water away from the teeth. You will always get water in and around the edges of the awning. If the awning looks neat when it's pitched then your about there..

Cheers Gary, I guess I was just fooled by the pictures of it looking all neat and perfect. Just for feedback also, the groundsheet for the porch takes longer to get right than it does to put the damn tent up, but it does add a great deal of cooking and chilling space!
