I have been looking on eBay for a while to try to buy a tent (preferably an Outwell) for a very reasonable price due to tight budget restraints. I wanted something we could take to a festival (mum and daughter) and then use afterwards - realistically don't think my husband will ever want to come with us!

I have managed to buy one today for £40 - secondhand of course and an Outwell Arizona L - there are no obvious issues with it - I will see when I go to pick it up! At least its cash on collection.

Did I make a good choice do you think? Can't wait to post review and photos on here.

Quick question already - there are photos on here where the flysheet with the windows and has been propped up with tent poles - can I use any old tent poles to do this? Would I push them into the ground? Would it be better to try to get a separate canopy? Oops that was 3 questions.

Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes

New! Please upload a photo of your tent to the Tent Showcase!

It's been a few years since we used our Arizona but I seem to remember the doors having eyelets which could be dropped over the spikes of the king poles (which may be included with yours?) and could then be guyed out with one line on each, at right angles to each other so as to pull what then became the "canopy" away from the main tent and provide tautness against the opposite pole.

No need to push them into the ground, and we've never found the need for an additional canopy.

You should find plenty of sleeping space and a fair amount of living space.

hi Pigby I have got an Arizona L and like Hacksaw Bob says you can use king poles for the canopy. Unfortunately there isn't a tarp for the tent (not one that I can find anyway) because of the shape. Overall I love the tent but there is only one niggle. When it has rained it tends to drip in when you open the door but only a tiny negative compared to all the positives.

Hope you enjoy
