Hi, I've just bought a second hand Outwell Bear Lake 4 in the old style and have managed to get hold of a carpet but I can't find a footprint for this tent. I'm wondering if the new style Bear Lake 4 would be adaptable, or is it easy to make a footprint?
Thanks :)

We have never had a specific footprint. We use b&q or Lidl tarps and fold under any excess. Only variation to this is the Cabanon, I splashed out on a heavier pond liner .

I was lucky in that my tent's footprint is almost square and I was able to get a good quality tarp off ebay that fitted perfectly. I would certainly measure the actual footprint of the tent (the bit that touches the ground rather than any canopies or extensions) and see if you can find a tarp which is just a few inches shorter all round.
Some places will make up a tarp for you to the size you require although then it might start getting a little expensive.

Ah ok, I didn't realise tarp would work. I do have a tarp already that might work in that case. Good to know.. Thank you!
Just make sure that a tarp is hidden underneath the tent by a few inches all round. If the tarp sticks out, water running off the fly will drip onto the edge of the tarp and run back underneath the tent forming a 'lake' between the tent groundsheet and the tarp.
