Jim1977...????
Who knows, im sure they will keep the SmartAir system but they might bring out a simpler air system (lower cost) as well, its all up in the air (pardon the pun) but it won't be long before we start to find out. One thing I think Outwell will do is bring out an inflatable caravan awning, they would be crazy not to.

We were in Outdoor Action in Blackburn today, one of the guys there is also going to see the Outwell 2015 range in August. Given that they tend to have a three year life cycle for their tents he was speculating on the Harrier staying essentially the same but the Concorde could see either changes or replacement.

Given the rate of development over the last couple of years, as Gary says, who knows what may be changing. Actually we saw a Vango Eden at Winfields today, only a 400 but it has given us pause for thought. Definitely going with polycotton but given that so much seems now to be out of stock, and for one year only, price is no object waiting to see what the new ranges may bring, could well be the only sensible option. After all we only have the money for this lot later in August. Interestingly on the Vango web site they indicate that stocks of the Eden V 600 are due in towards the end of July.

Waiting might be the most sensible option unless you find something that feels perfect as it is. If something is not selling well it will not last more than 1 season, look at the Concorde XL for example. There seems to be more of a discount being offered on the Concordes than the Harriers though, could be either to clear the Concorde stock, or just that the Concorde is not selling as well as the Harrier...If high end poled tent sales have fallen off a cliff they could even bring out inflatable versions of the Wolf, Bear and Trout Lakes. The Bear Lake would have to have 1 pole for the porch like the Vango Eden. Now they would sell well!!!

There is certainly no hardship in waiting, our money comes through the end of August so can do nothing till then and we should have some idea where the polycotton inflatable tent world will be placed next year by then.

We can be at the head of the queue for whatever piece of loveliness is out then.

We liked the green and brown colour scheme, though it has been called the mint choc chip colour amongst ourselves. Our problem with pre-ordering is that we have no money till late August so could not reliably pay even the deposit as yet. Of course we would like the footprint and carpet too and they are hard to find it seems.

Hi Lise212,
I can only say go and see them.
After you see them and have a go at taking one down and putting it up you will understand.

I hadn't heard of them before either until a month or so ago.
Only seen the photos on here, then went down to Cross-camping yesterday to see James from campingtravelstore
I was initially wanting to look at the Cabanon's, and maybe spending up to £700.
After spending lots of time going through the options and prices ended up buying a 280 Karsten Pod with comfort awning, for double that!

They are VERY expensive and basically they are just a square pod, with two inflatable tubes crossing each other.
It's not until you get in one and touch the fabric and see the quality for yourself and then see how you can configure them to what you want does it become clear.
You then realise why they are so much money.

It's not for everyone I can fully understand that as they are expensive but not only that we are all different and some might not like the pod type structure and would prefer tents with windows and the like.

But if you are looking at paying £1200+ on an inflatable tent, then they really should be looked at IMHO.
Even if it's to rule them out as it's not the design you're looking for.

Hope this helps a bit.

Cheers

Ian

Hi Ian,

Thanks for that I suspect it is very much a case of it all being a lot clearer once you've seen them in the flesh so to speak. I sort of like the idea of being able to configure a tent to suit us at least in theory but think I would have to find some to have a look at.

Lisa

Yes you really need to see them!

Depending where you are there is that display on at Cross Camping, junction 11 of the M11.

THIS Thread is my trip to the exhibition with photos.
I believe James is there all week.

Cheers

Sadly we are a little north west of there in Lancashire and with no days off before the event ends on the 12th. I am pretty sure the boss would not be happy.

Boss "Why was it you can't work today?"

Me "I've got to go to see a new tent"

I feel it wouldn't be seen as a good enough reason. Some people are so unreasonable!

Work it gets in the way of everything!
Luckily for me and the wife we are not too far away so were able to go and see them.

This Video Shows James pitching a 350 pod.

There are a few other videos of him going round them.

Cheers

lise - you could always go one better - take a trip over to zwaag in holland where they are made and see the factory shop - lots of models available on display to see and buy!.

its great to be able to configure the tent entirely, pod size, windows - how many and where, same with doors, then the pod colour, the window fabric cover colour, door colour, the variuos extensions and how many windows in them, colour of the zig, how many pods - they can be inter-connected to make a sleeping room, or several sleeping rooms and a living room, you could even have a cooking room, toilet room .... its goes on and on - you could in theory have an entire karsten village of pods! and which size of pod for each room. theres an unlimited number of options really.

read the through the post i began a while back called Karsten Klub - shortly after i bought mine - its about 30 pages long now with various folks buying these superb tents.
as you read through and spend time getting to know the tent / brand you ll appreciate more and more the fine quality and features you ll get in a Karsten and the owners comments make great and invaluable reading.

ill say this - i cant tell you in 1 reply why you should buy one, but if you can get to see and feel one, every other tent after that will be ... just not the same! they are unique tents.

Thanks for the advice everyone think we will just have to wait and see what next years stock brings (and maybe even see if we can get a look at a karsten).

Thanks again
