Having purchased my first tent I was finally able to use it last weekend for a trip down to Brighton to meet friends.

The weather was glorious when we arrived but during the first night the heavens opened. The rain was constant all night then fine most of Saturday before starting again on Saturday evening when it really came down.

There were no obvious signs of leaks in the Vango Beta 350XL I'd purchased, but on Sunday morning the flysheet was very damp inside and as I tried to tap the water off the outside before opening the tent I noticed some droplets falling onto the ground sheet inside.

Do the tents get that condensated inside through the night?
Or could it have been some rainwater getting in? I was hoping a new tent would be able to put up with a bit more than a heavy shower!?

I am not familiar with the tent, but chances are it was condensation. Polyester tents cannot breath, except through ventilation and so if everything was closed up for the night, condensation would form.

Sounds very much like condensation... A film of water on the inside all over, yep, condensation. The bigger the tent the better plus I imaging you had damp stuff in the tent which would make it even worse.
